Special Charity Work Experience – Thank You

Hello, I just wanted to convey my appreciation for your kind donation towards my volunteering trip of the £150 offering collected during the Christmas carol service.  I was hoping to be able to attend today’s service to say thank you but unfortunately it has fallen that I am working.
In July I shall be undertaking volunteer work in Midrand, South Africa, in connection with the children’s charitable organisation Botshabelo.  My volunteer group has been advised that the main project underway this year is the building of a new classroom within the education centre and I shall be assisting by carrying out duties such as plastering, tiling, painting, etc.  I shall also be involved with childcare in the designated babies home and will be working with children between the ages of 0 to 7 in the orphanage.
At the time of travel a portion of my baggage allowance will be allocated to carrying donations for children within the babies home / orphanage and also for those within the local community.  Our group shall be focussing on gifting pens, pencils, books, etc which we think will be nice to leave in the newly established classroom so that it is ready for use.
To raise further funds for my trip I have completed a 35 mile sponsored walk and have also taken part in a bag packing event at the Tesco superstore in St Stephen’s shopping centre, Hull.  The monies placed in my collection bucket amounted to approximately £43 – it took a very long time to count all the assorted coins!!
I hope that the above gives a further insight into my forthcoming adventure and thank you all again for your kind support.
