The centre has established a reputation for carrying out high quality trials on tomato, cucumber, peppers and lettuce.
Recent work has included pest and disease control in propagation and after planting, studying the effect of agronomic inputs on nitrates in lettuce, producing baby leaf salad crops for a human nutrition study and evaluating new growing substrates as an alternative to rockwool. The main emphasis continues to be focussed on optimising pest and disease control using biological control wherever possible plus maximising quality (appearance and taste) and productivity.
